…ent by so many. Entire nations feel entitled to carry on using the amount of energy they are using. They feel entitled to pursue their ‘greatness’ as a nation. Common sense would demand they forget about ‘greatness’ and focus on preparing for the onslaught of natural disasters to come. However, when so many have become so accustomed to so much power, freedom, and unending resources, habituation turns to entitlement.
So many of my friends feel entitled to chase their dreams, procreate and introduce ever more people into the second most populous country in the world bursting at the seams. They feel entitled to buy 2, 3 or even more cars and multiple houses, because they want to live life king size like westerners do.
They are armed with nationalist pride that they are also capable of being rich and living the American dream right here in India, when more than half the country lives in poverty and shits on railway tracks.
