After seeing how this has been playing out in multiple organizations over the last few years of my content writing career, I've come to notice that content writing jobs exist only for marketing managers to have puppets to play with as a toy at their workplace. There's no respect nor dignity, because it's anyway the graphic designer(s) who designs all the collaterals and the guys/girls working operations who provide you with all the product info.
They don't care about originality, your own "aha" moments, or what you think works or doesn't work.
They just want a head nodding puppet who'll do what they say at a moments notice, especially on festive holidays and weekends. They don't know what originality is. I too remember being asked, "why aren't we on Twitter yet".....and all such questions that stem from insecurity, rather from a place of knowledge and data analysis of what works or what doesn't.
